Job Summary

The IT Support / Systems Administrator will provide PC, network, and telephony support for Peninsula Truck Lines with branches in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. This role supports the Company's mission by supporting optimum employee productivity and superior internal customer satisfaction. Reports to VP of Information Technology.

Key Responsibilities

     Provide level 1 technical support for internal and external customers.

     Troubleshoot desktop hardware and software related issues, as well as document resolutions when applicable.

     Provide basic technical training and new user orientation.

     Update and manage knowledge base, frequently asked questions and troubleshooting guides for end user support.

     Manage and administer pc's, tablets, handhelds, phones, and printers including their associated operating systems and software.

     Configure, install, maintain, and troubleshoot moderately complex application server and desktop hardware, software, and peripheral devices.

     Install, configure and maintain enterprise software applications.

     Plan and install hotfixes, patches, firmware updates, software upgrades and other updates for all devices.

     Maintain asset management, including device inventory, related documentation and technical specifications.

     Administer and maintain end user accounts, mailboxes, permissions and access rights.

     Configuring users and telephone equipment on an NEC SV8000 telephone system.

     Assist in completion of special projects on as needed basis.

     Will perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

Education:

     2+ years' experience in technical support or system administration in Microsoft Windows environment.

     Associate's degree in Computer Science or related field OR equivalent experience.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

     Excellent communications skills with a user-friendly support attitude are necessary.

     In-depth knowledge of Windows Server 2008-2019/Windows 7/10 and Active Directory, including Group Policies.

     Absolutely must have GREAT written and verbal skills and ability to keep excellent logs, inventory, notes and documentation.

     CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent knowledge.

     Basic understanding of networking fundamentals and systems architecture.

     Basic knowledge of security standards and configuration best practices.

     Ability to create and read technical documentation and network diagrams.

     Demonstrated analytical, deductive reasoning and troubleshooting skills.

     Demonstrated customer service skills and the ability to interact with personnel at all levels of the organization.

     Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and multi-task with minimal supervision.

 

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

     Constant sitting at a desk with repetitive hand movements to operate a computer for long periods of time.

     Ability to bend below waist level to adjust operating hardware on occasion.

     Ability to lift/pull/push up to 50lbs with or without accommodation.

     Ability to travel to, and move about in, field locations.

     Ability to occasionally work non-traditional or extended hours based on business need.

     Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend conversational English.
